Michael Renee Bradburry, RN, is the owner of Studio 27 Aesthetic Care, and she believes that everyone deserves to look better and feel better. She began practicing aesthetic medicine 20 years ago, under the supervision of three doctors. More than 10 years ago, she opened Studio 27 in Old Colorado City, on the corner of 27th Street
She now has a second location in Woodland Park. “Studio 27 is a medically supervised spa with a boutique feel,” says Michael. After many years of offering a variety of aesthetic services, she decided to narrow her focus. “I do what I am good at and enjoy doing,” she explains. Her practice is now strictly medical. She offers Botox, fillers, medical-grade chemical peels, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, microneedling, sclerotherapy, HCG diets, and LipoLean. Michael notes that she was one of the first nurse advanced injectors in town and is proud and honored to have been trained by skilled and experienced doctors. Longtime client G. A. Powers says that anyone can do fillers, but not everyone can achieve the natural results that he gets at Studio 27. People tell him that he looks good, he says—and no one has ever asked him if he has had work done. “Michael’s like an artist,” Mr. Powers says. “She is cognizant of bone structure, contours beautifully, and knows where to inject to avoid bruising.” It’s knowing where to inject that makes for the most natural look, Michael stresses. “More is never better,” she advises. “I just want to complement their look, not change who they are.” Michael is proud of her good reputation, of her experience and integrity, and of the trust her clients have in her. Having worked as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, Michael is accustomed to working in conditions that leave no room for error. That’s the level of dedication that she now brings to her clients at Studio 27. Michael’s work at her studio also involves educating her clients. With so many new businesses advertising aesthetic procedures, Michael teaches her clients that now, more than ever, they need to know who is behind the needle. It’s important to learn both the practitioner’s qualifications and the contents of the products that are being used. “It’s your face,” she points out. “It’s very important to know what is being injected.” She uses only the safest products on the market, she says, and she mixes the products in front of her clients. She takes the time to educate them on how much is being injected, where it is being injected, and why. Mr. Powers says that Michael never pushes a product and helps you look natural within your budget. “There’s a new confidence she instills in you,” he says. “You feel you are looking the best you can. It’s worth every penny.”
Another longtime client, “Laurie,” says that she had been to other places for procedures but, once she found Michael, she has never gone anywhere else. She encourages anyone who wants to look and feel younger to “go for it.” She is happy with the natural results she was able to achieve (with no bruising!), the fact that she never has to wait in the office, and the caring and personal approach Michael takes with her clients. “It’s my happy place, even though it’s a place with needles,” she laughs. Because of the pleasant experiences she has had at Studio 27, Laurie says she has referred many of her friends to Michael. She would refer her own mother, she quips, but she has never told her mom that she has had procedures done…as far as she can tell, her mother has never even noticed. No matter how old you are, you’re aging every day. It is never too early to begin anti-aging prevention, Michael says, and it’s never too late to slow or even reverse some of the visible effects of aging. She says she has seen an expansion in her clientele, in both age and gender. More men and women of a wider age group are wanting to look and feel better these days. Michael is the sole advanced injector. This helps keep her overhead low, so she can pass on the savings to her clients. She says she finds her work rewarding and loves that she has the flexibility to spend time with her clients, to get to know them. “It’s about doing the right thing, making people feel better about themselves,” she concludes. Studio 27 is located at 2631 West Colorado Avenue, in Old Colorado City (719-329-0304). The Woodland Park location is at 300 West Lake Avenue (719-291.1569).
